Mission and History

The mission of Greece Christian School is to provide Christ - centered education.

Greece Christian School has a rich history and was birthed in prayer at Greece Assembly of God, under the direction of Pastor C.M. Touchstone, by parents who desired a Christ-centered education for their children. GCS opened in the fall of 1982, offering grades Kindergarten through seven, with forty-five students.  Rev. Robert Richardson served as its first principal. The following year eighth grade was added where enrollment grew to 100 at the church location at 85 Kuhn Rd. In the fall of 1985, Greece Christian opened in newly built church facilities at 750 Long Pond Road, where enrollment has continued to increase.

Greece Christian School became a pre-K through 8th grade in 2010 when Happy Time Christian Nursery School, which began in the 1970’s at Greece Assembly, officially became part of GCS.

Enrollment at GCS ranges from 200 to 240 students representing families from over thirty churches and nine school districts.

The school was an original member of the Greater Rochester Association of Christian Educators (GRACE), and retains active membership.  Greece Christian School also maintains an affiliation with the American Christian School International (ACSI), the New York Association of Christian Schools (NYACS), and the N.Y.S. Coalition for Independent and Religious Schools (NYSCIRS).

We are grateful to God for the privilege to support Christian families to raise up their children in the way that they should go, and in so doing impact the lives of hundreds of young people over the past forty years.
