Dear Parents, As we begin our long awaited summer vacations, we are reminding parents that it is important for all of us to be active learners through the summer. In order to do this, we are asking students to take part in our summer reading program. Each student received a brochure about the reading program in their report card. All students are asked to participate by reading several books. Each student who participates by returning the attached signed reading record during the first week of school in September will receive a certificate. In addition, students entering grades K-5 will receive awards for reading 3, 6 or 9 books. Students entering middle school, will receive awards for reading 400, 800 or 1,00 pages. The reading lists for each grade level are attached and can also be found on the school website. Students entering K-5 may read from these lists or they may read other books that they select. Some students will select books that are part of the Accelerated Reader program. Students, who wish to take an AR test during the summer, would be able to do so by contacting Mrs. Russo at jrusso@greecechristian.org and she will confirm the time with you. Thank you for your support for your student in this project. I will be excited to see the results of these book adventures when we return in September!
