Middle School students check out book during AM and PM homeroom and during study halls.

Our fully automated Library has over 7,000 books in our collection.  Many of our books are used in the highly acclaimed program, Accelerated Reader.  Teachers in our school use this program to encourage reading in their students, improve students’ comprehension skills and foster a life-long love of reading!  During library classes, students return and check out books, do research on projects from other classes and take Accelerated Reader quizzes on the computers.

GCS Library policies:

·         All books must be checked by the librarian.

·         Books are checked out during library classes and returned the following week during class time.

·         Middle school students are allowed to have their books out for 2 weeks.

·         If the books are lost by the student or are damaged beyond repair, the parent will be responsible to pay the school librarian for the replacement of the book.

·         At the end of the year, NO report cards will be given to those students who have not returned all of their library books.

Oportunities for parents to volunteer:

If you love to read...this is the place for you!  During library classes K-5 we love to have parents come in to read to the students.

Book donations are welcome but please take heed to the following considerations:

  • Is the book appropriate in a Christian School Setting?
  • Is it within the reading levels from k - 8th grade?
  • Is it in very good condition?
  • We are now not accepting encyclopedias

Many classes use the Accelerated Reader program. Click on the files below to view the list of AR books and tests available.
