School Security

All parents will have to enter the main door and sign in.  They will be given a parent volunteer ID if they are working in the building.  If you are dropping your child off for school it is the school’s policy to sign them in and then leave the building.  Parents are not supposed to wander the halls nor are they to go to the classroom when dropping off their students.  This keeps the hallways from being cluttered and from distracting the teacher from supervising their students.  If you have any question for the teachers, please call or leave a note in the main office.  All visitors will have to be buzzed in the main entrance and then sign in and receive an ID.  When the parents are picking up a student after school they are to pick the child up in the art room and sign the student out.  Only go to the office if the student must be picked up for an appointment and he/she must leave early. 

The security system includes the electronic buzz-in door for the main school entrance with cameras to know who is entering the building.  School staff will be able to enter with security cards but no outside visitors will have access. In addition, to the physical security we have a Safety Committee that reviews and suggest improvements for all aspects of the building. This will allow us to be proactive in all aspects with our students and their safety.
