About » History
Greece Christian School was birthed in a Sunday night prayer meeting at Greece Assembly of God, under the direction of Pastor C.M. Touchstone. GCS opened in the fall of 1982, offering grades Kindergarten through seven, with forty five students enrolled, and Rev. Robert Richardson as its first principal. The following year, grade 8 was added. Enrollment grew to 100 at the location at 85 Kuhn Rd. In the fall of 1985, Greece Christian opened in the new church facilities at 750 Long Pond Road, where enrollment has continued to increase. During the 2007-2008 school year, the school celebrated its’ twenty fifth anniversary with 185 students from over 40 churches and 10 school districts attended Greece Christian School.
The school was an original member in the Greater Rochester Association of Christian Educators, of which it still retains active membership. We are grateful to God for the privilege to impact the lives of hundreds of young people over the years.
