I hope everybody is enjoying their summer vacation.  I am having a great time!!!  My only regret is that I miss all of you former third graders very much.

For the former third graders (4th graders)

Please remember the following:

*Don’t forget to let God use you this summer.  God loves you and wants you to seek Him and know Him more.

*Don’t forget to practice your Math facts.  You will forget them if you don’t practice.  Use the links below for great websites to practice.

*Don’t forget to read.  Let’s see who can read the most books over the summer.  I hope all of you earn the gold medal for reading at least 9 chapter books this summer.  See school website for summer reading sheet printable.  Also, see the 4th grade website for a list of great books.

*Don’t forget that you are missed, and I hope you are having a great, relaxing summer.

To the incoming third graders:

Congratulations on finishing off 2nd grade strong.  Miss Farnand has told me so much about you.  I am so excited to spend next year with you.  The following are some things you can look forward to, and some ways you can prepare for next year:

I can’t wait for:

*Pumpkin Science

*Rocket Math

*School Store

*Bible time

*Class pets

*24 game

*Reader’s Theater

*Smart Board

*Field trips

*Science experiments

*so so so so so much more.

Ways to prepare for third grade:

*Write Write Write……  Try keeping a writing journal over the summer.  I would love to read the stories you created, or hear about the experiences you had this summer when you come back.  I will even give you extra credit in Language if you do this.

**********Math Facts**********

You have worked hard to learn your addition and subtraction facts last year.  If you don’t practice them this summer, you will forget them.  Go online to the links above to practice.  We will be beginning Rocket Math in the beginning of the year.  The more you know your facts, the faster you will rocket to success.  You will get school money as you succeed.

Read Read Read Read Read Read

Don’t forget to read.  Let’s see who can read the most books over the summer.  I hope all of you earn the gold medal for reading at least 9 chapter books this summer.  See school website for summer reading sheet printable.

Have a great, fun, relaxing summer.  Don’t forget to take time to seek the Lord.

See you all in September!
